Iran’s Ailments, in a few words

The future of Iran is of the utmost greatness, majesty, and glory, for it is the native land of the Blessed Beauty. All the nations of the earth will turn to and regard Iran with high esteem. Know of a certainty that it will make such progress as to dazzle the eyes of the mighty and the learned throughout the world. _‘Abdu’l‑Bahá

Is it the realization of; human rights, the arrangement of the means of public progress, the development of standards of education and development and improvement of the climate throughout the country[1], taking care of the deprived and the poor, increasing and nationalizing the resources of wealth for the public, and the progress in science and technology and economy, against the wellbeing of Iranian people?

All the progressive countries studied, discussed, and researched for centuries to find the best methods for developing their nation and countries. But Iranians have regressed due to pride, bigotry, blind imitation, personal interests, and totalitarianism.

In these last few decades, apart from producing and multiplying weapons and means of war and slaughter, exporting the regressive philosophy of war and terror to neighboring countries[2], and teaching hostility and violence, how have we assisted in the betterment of Iran and Iranians? What positive contribution has our nation made in the development of the government and the poor and backward countries of the region?[3]

How has “neither eastern-nor western” philosophy helped our nation and country’s social, economic, scientific, and technical progress? But, unfortunately, our people have forgotten the etiquette of respect and reverence, become aggressive, and become bullies; Because no one listens to them.

As a nation, we have not learned respect for opinions, human and social dignity, respect for the status of women, respect for listening to opposing arguments, and we talk to each other with the philosophy of dominance and not humility. What are these results of? And how we can remedy these ailments in our society and country.
